We Support Colorado Outward Bound School

At CenterStone our heart is in the adventure. Whether it is skiing, climbing, fishing or working through your day, each day is an opportunity for new experiences. Our company was created from an industry-bred passion for footwear and apparel brands and our service to those brands is one way we help achieve our daily mission. Service to those who share our mission includes our support of several philanthropic and educational organizations including Colorado Outward Bound School.

Colorado Outward Bound School changes lives through challenge and discovery helping students discover “strength of character, the ability to lead and a desire to serve.” Each year, we participate in Colorado Outward Bound School Black Tie and Tennis Shoes Gala. And it is our pleasure to do so again this year.

Last year’s speaker was Tommy Caldwell, who captivated us with his big-wall free climbing journeys. In 2015, Caldwell and his companion, Kevin Jorgeson, finished the first-ever free climb of the Dawn Wall of El Capitan in Yosemite. You could hear a pin drop as we listened and registered the hardship and challenges faced in such a feat.

This year we are absolutely thrilled to listen to Erik Weihenmayer, the only blind climber to summit Mount Everest and all of the Seven Summits — the highest peaks on each continent. He’s not stopping there as he continues his work as “an author, speaker and ambassador of the No Barriers Mindset, pursuing and reaching new goals like kayaking the Grand Canyon.”
